4.  Elizabeth2 Burks (Samuel1) was born Abt. 1705 in Albemarle Co., Virginia, and died September 21, 1756 in VA.  She married William Cabell, Sr. 1726 in Near Dover, Goochland, VA, son of Nicholas Cabell and Rachel Hooper.

Notes for Elizabeth Burks:
Elizabeth was a member of the Society of Friends, an organization with which the Indians were on friendly terms. Because of this she was a great help to the Colonists in maintaining peaceful relations with the Indians of Virginia.

Notes for William Cabell, Sr.:
Graduated from the London College of Surgery and Medicine. He was a surgeon in the English Navy. He left England in 1724. Progenitor of the Cabell family. He obtained extensive grants of land along the James River. He was appointed Under Sheriff of Henrico in 1726. He was Justice of the first Goochland County Court in 1728/29. He was one of the first Justices of the first Court of Albermarle County in 1744/45. He served as a Captain in the Indian Wars of 1745.

22 iv. John Cabell, born Abt. 1737 in Goochland Co., VA.  He married Paulina Jordan May 20, 1762.

Notes for John Cabell:
Sheriff of Buckingham county in 1774. He was a Delegate from Buckingham to the Convention in 1776.
